WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Osteopathy takes a whole person approach to care, focusing on the muscles, joints, ligaments, connective tissue and even some internal organs.
Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that utilises a variety of ‘hands-on’ techniques. These techniques include

  • stretching
  • articulation
  • mobilisation
  • manipulation
  • gentle stretch release techniques
  • dry needling
  • modern cupping

The aim of osteopathic treatment is to improve the body’s capacity to heal itself. Osteopaths not only treat symptoms, but also aim to address the underlying causes of dysfunction/s. This can be achieved through ergonomic advice, stress management strategies and personalised exercise programs.
Osteopaths can treat a broad range of conditions such as

  • back and neck pain
  • sporting injuries
  • joint pain
  • sciatica
  • migraines and headaches
  • pregnancy related pain
  • peripheral joint pain (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle)
  • postural problems
